In keeping with our efforts of 2016 we are participating in the yearly . A small group of LoansWithNoCreditCheck's finest employees are trying hard to push themselves to their limits for a good cause, not to mention a fair amount of internal competition for good measure! The team are raising money for  which is helping sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK (further details can be found on Variety's website).

Last year we have raised nearly £600 and we really would like to raise even more this year. The training is in progress and for sure we are going to get better times than the last year!

Hi there from LoansWithNoCreditCheck!

Life here at LoansWithNoCreditCheck is not only about project related work but also doing outside of those projects more of what we love - TO CODE
So if you are interested in reading a mildly philosophical and technical blog about our experience with Hackathons and some related tips then please read on. We hope you enjoy reading.

As you can imagine most of the people here at LoansWithNoCreditCheck are very passionate about programming and so if we can try something new, have fun and maybe even win something that's definitely time well spent. We have participated in both local public and private company Hackathons, and have been regular participants of Hack for the past 3 years.

I have been using / on a project and it makes sense to leverage the typesafety of using the  library which is as they say, "Reactive type-safe Scala DSL for Cassandra". A couple of months ago version v1.19.0 was released which has deprecated the testkit. After updating to new version it has broken all the existing tests in our project. Phantom has good documentation on the wiki pages so I don't think that it is necessary to describe how to use it. But the documentation hasn't been updated recently. So I think it is a good opportunity to describe how to write the tests, as well as showing how to run the test using embedded cassandra.
